Our principles

All our actions, even the smallest ones, derive from a set of principles that constitute the philosophical pillars of our institution. This allows us to foster an environment where kindness is at the forefront every day.

Comprehensive education

As educators, we believe in both academic and personal growth, thus we focus on teaching academic content while taking into consideration our students’ interests and personal circumstances. Our goal is to achieve a balance between formal academic content and personal development, which aims at students’ growth as social beings.

Development of personal skills

Our educational commitment is based on understanding that our students’ diversity of interests is enriching. We believe in being respectful of different learning styles and helping students develop self-empowerment strategies based on academic content and (inter)personal skills.

Empathy

Our main pedagogical motivation is children and teenagers’ development. Thus, our educational work is aimed at our students’ potential, feelings and experiences. It is our responsibility, as educators, to get to know their needs and motivations in order to foster an educational model that values childhood and youth. This principle is our cornerstone: to see in each student a well-rounded person, thus continuously supporting, listening, training and guiding them in the personal and academic aspects of their lives.

Development of skills for future choices

Each child and teenager has personal experiences that shape their preferences and interests. As educators, it is our responsibility to identify them, offer guidance for those preferences and skills, and support their discovery process for them to make effective choices as future university students and young professionals. In order to achieve this, our school performs constant self-assessment, regularly analysing both its pedagogical processes as well as results.

Articulation of educational activities and the families

We consider that the task of educating is a holistic challenge and, as such, it is not limited to the time spent at school. Rather, it is an articulated process with each of the families that are part of our community. It is fundamental that our activities should be articulated with the students’ families, being equally respectful of the autonomy that both the school and the families should keep.
