Mummifying An Orange? What for?

6th Formers learnt about the mummification process, that is, how Egyptians preserved dead bodies for the afterlife.

Students became embalmers for a day. We set all the ingredientes needed on a table:  an orange, baking soda, 2 coffee filtres, 3 baggies, a tablespoon and scotch tape, to seal the baggies with the orange slices.
They were able after  two weeks to see the results of the  mummification experiment.
The orange looked like a real mummy!
All the students participated with great enthusiasm. It was AMAZING!
